Part 1. Prepare
Explore the concept of fasting, learn about its purposes and ways to do it. Think through ways to participate personally when Part 2 begins.
Week 1 (Dec 28 to Jan 3): Introducing the fast
Week 2 (Jan 4 to 10): What fasting is and how to prepare
Week 3 (Jan 11 to 17): Stories of fasting and what to expect
Part 2. Practice
Fast during both of these weeks. Spaces will be available for prayer throughout the day at Mosaic or Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. Mid-week evening gatherings will be held both weeks.
Week 4 (Jan 18 to 24): Seeking God in personal struggles
Week 5 (Jan 25 to 31): Seeking God in shared struggles
Part 3. Celebrate
Sunday, Feb 1: “The Break-fast”–communion, sharing and breakfast together to celebrate
