Creation: Not Good

Service Details

Season and Week: Epiphany | Seventh Sunday After the Epiphany

Sermon Title: The Roots of Justice, Part 2—Creation: Not Good

Speaker: Dave Everson

Summary

During the seven days of creation, God stops at the end of each work day to look over his latest handiwork and to declare it good. But in Genesis 2, we get a glimpse God’s creative process mid-stream. While he’s working on humankind, he takes a look at the man and says, “it is not good for the man to be alone.” This week we explore the “rightness” of a humanity that is incomplete until it includes both male and female—together bearing God’s image, upholding the very-goodness of God’s finished creation, and sharing God’s mandate to fill, subdue, and rule the earth.
